MNT(3- Nitrotoluene)

MNT(3- Nitrotoluene) is a yellow green coloured liquid with a weak aromatic odour and belongs to the chemical class of mono-nitro-toluene carrying a nitro group at position 3. It is used as an intermediate compound for the production of various types of products in industries which includes dyestuff, petrochemicals, pesticides, pharmaceuticals and rubber. It is combustible in nature and is incompatible with reducing agents, strong oxidizing and bases. This compound can also be used for the manufacturing of m-toludine by the reduction process.
